London’s newest venue, Drumsheds officially opened this weekend.

The 15,000-capacity club in Meridian Water opened its doors for the first time on Saturday (October 7) with an event from the glamorous La Discothèque as its colourful debut.

Created by Broadwick Live, the same team behind Printworks, The Depot Mayfield and The Beams, the new venue includes three rooms Room X, Room Y and the mammoth Room Z.

Transforming Tottenham’s former IKEA into a raucous club venue, the 608,000-square-foot space is more than double the size of the now-closed Printworks.

With creative direction from United Visual Artists, the warehouse has a mixture of high-quality lighting and visuals as well as its original lift shafts, loading bays, sprawling floors and machinery.

For its opening, La Discothèque had its own orchestra play a symphony of disco hits along with sets throughout the day event from the likes of Kenny Dope, Gilles Peterson, Derrick Carter b2b DJ Sneak, Melé, Afrodeutsche, Norman Jay MBE, Anish Kumar and many others.

This weekend, Drumsheds will have Gorgon City present their Enter The Realm party with a range of acts playing including Ammara, Armand Van Helden, Danny Howard, SG Lewis and more.

After that, the space is booked up until the end of the year with events from the likes of Hot Chip, Sugababes, Jamie Jones, Andy C and Skepta. Get tickets to Drumsheds here.
