How do you settle into a creative mindset? For some, getting the creative juices flowing takes absolute tranquillity while others prefer to work against the clock. No matter how you work, we’re sure that the end process is something to shout about.

We’ve teamed up with vape brand Vuse once again for Making Your Mark, a series that highlights diversity and creativity with DJs from around the globe. Throughout the series, we’re catching up with artists and producers to find out all about their creative process in the hours before a gig, what inspires them, and what they get up to in their downtime. Vuse is championing emerging creative talent, supporting artists and encouraging them to push the boundaries within the creative community.

The next episode of Making Your Mark delves into life behind the scenes with Anastasia Kristensen, a Russian-born, Denmark-based DJ and producer. Anastasia brings us along to explore her home of Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital, to discover the cogs behind her creative outlook. In the lead up to her gig at VSA, Anastasia shows us the sweet spots for productive fuel including a quiet seaside location behind the airport, her favourite record store, and the planetarium. “When I’m on tour, it’s usually very hectic - airports, pickups, busy shows - whereas here, you can really relax,” she tells Mixmag.

“I’ve actually finished tracks while here many times, I think it’s just this ambience and this moment of calm that resets your mind,” she says at the seaside spot. Anastasia also takes us to her favourite record store, Proton Records, where she discusses the importance of bringing forward new talent and creating safer spaces in dance music. “It’s important in our city, we needed a record store that will support the local scene and correspond to all the activities we have here as a community.”
