Move your body: 19 images from Body Movements' joyful second edition
Touching down in Hackney Wick once again, the LGBTQI+ knees-up brought good vibes and knock-out fits
Sun, sweat and spandex — it can only mean one thing, Body Movements is in town. Coming off the back of its thunderous first edition, expectations were high for the East London LGBTQI+ all-dayer, once again taking over Hackney Wick earlier this month.
Thousands of ravers turned out in their colourful-and-kinky best to catch performances from beloved queer rave collectives from the UK and beyond including Chapter 10, Fiasco!, Daytimers, Herrensauna, Adonis, High Hoops, Big Dyke Energy, He.She.They, Pxssy Palace and more.
With London riding off the back of a mega heatwave, sunshine was a given all over Hackney Wick — with attendees packing a plethora of lavish fans, ice lollies and huge shades to stay cool and keep dancing.

The soaring temperatures only seemed to add to the mood, with ravers packing into the sweaty dancefloors of The Yard and Colour Factory Garden to catch some rays until the late afternoon.
Queues could be seen all day to get a slice of the action at Colour Factory, where crowds could catch sets from SHERELLE, FAFF, Or:la, Peach and of course, Body Movements founder and headliner Saoirse.
Across the 'Wick, sets and Crate Brewery, Studio 9294, The Lor and the Yard drew in huge crowds eager to catch the likes of Midland, Shy One, Shay Malt, i.Jordan and Lakuti.

This year, Body Movements expanded its after-party offering, with a huge selection of post-festi gatherings for attendees to head down to if they weren't quite finished after the day's dancing — with afters courtesy of Sippin 'T, Chapter 10, Dalston Superstore, Herrensauna, tRust and Little Gay Brother.
As a whole, Body Movements easily built upon its first edition, providing an exuberant and intoxicating environment for an entire community to come together and celebrate. The festival this year also helped raise funds for We Exist — a healthcare fund that offers bursaries to trans folk in need.
