Mixmag heads to Ho Chi Minh City with BUDX from May 28 through 30, bringing together a collection of innovative and influential creative individuals to share their empowering stories.
From the rise of graffiti art culture to the changing identity of Siagonese fashion and the broad spectrum of music taking over from hip hop to V-pop, we'll explore various aspects of Vietnamese culture through insightful panels, discussions and immersive experiences.

Andiez
Starting in 10th grade with his professional composing career, Andiez has become a singing, beatmaking, musical sensation in Vietnam. Rising to stardom on the widely-watched Sing My Song Vietnam reality show, Andiez's songs have gained well over 35 million views on social platforms.
Bui Phong (CEO/Founder of Haustek Agency, Founder of techno.vn and haus.vn)
Los Angeles based Bui Phong has been working across many facets of music over the past six years, bringing his love of house and techno to Vietnam. As the CEO and founder of Haustek Agency, Phong has made it a priority to support local DJs and producers through bookings across Southeast Asia and artist management. He is a multihyphenate across Vietnam’s electronic scene: as the founder and editor-in-chief of Nyctophilia, an underground music magazine and event; founder of the popular electronic music communities techno.vn and haus.vn; as a partner for Savage Saigon and Vibes Club Siagon; and as the founder and music director of the debut HOPDEM Festival.
Cedric Gervais
Cedric Gervais is a renowned global name in electronic music. The French-born artist became a household name after taking home a Grammy for his remix of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’ in 2013 and has continued to bring energy to dancefloors around the world: from Ibiza to Miami and now in Ho Chi Minh City. He joins us for a candid conversation to shed light about his experiences touring through Asia and getting to know the region.
Chris Wolter (Co-founder of Heart Beat Crew)
In 2012, Chris Wolter co-founded Heart Beat alongside Paul Tonkes and Jan-Erik Svensson. Heart Beat are prominent promoters in Ho Chi Minh City that champion house, techno and underground music with a mission to “engage and develop a party and community for electronic music that would mobilize the Vietnamese audience and [create] a sustainable club scene. Chris, a German native, has called Vietnam home for over 10 years and is the head of Pink Room, one of Heart Beat’s sublabels, which launched in 2018 with a specific focus on artists based in Vietnam. Chris is also a DJ and producer who releases music under his Phuc Long alias.
Danny Daos (Artist)
Danny Daos is considered a pioneer of Saigon's graffiti movement. He is also the leader of the All-In-One graffiti group, which gathers hundreds of young artists together. His campaigns have covered topics like animal protection, including a widely appreciated campaign in 2017 to end rhino consumption alongside the Centre of Hands-on Actions and Networking for Growth and Environment (CHANGE).
Get Looze
Ho Chi Minh City native Get Looze became a turntablist at age 17 and went on to be recognized and named Vietnam's top DJ by global superstar Tïesto. He has held residencies at renowned venues in Hanoi and created his own audio and video podcast program called 'Looze the Beat' to showcase fresh electronic music from both international and local artists to Vietnamese fans.
Gorana Romcevic (Head of Communications and PR, Epizode Festival)
Gorana has been a key player of Epizode’s success since 2017 as the Head of Communications and comes from a storied and lucrative background across the music industry in Asia and her home country, Serbia. Previously, she oversaw Club GLOW in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing more than a handful of Asia debuts for globally renowned talents like Archie Hamilton, Julia Govor, Julian Perez, Maayan Nidam, and more. Previously, she also served as the editor of Urban Bug, a leading dance music magazine in SE Europe.
Huynh Ngoc Loi (Drag Queen Centro Manager)
Huynh is a pioneer of the drag queen scene in Vietnam and is the manager of the beloved Drag Queen Centro team. He began 10 years ago and has grown the team into more than 50 members, who perform weekly at the Republic Lounge in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City.
Long Halo
Long Halo is a leading producer in Vietnam, known most notably for his work with V-Pop star Toc Tien. It's no surprise that he won The Remix in 2015, a popular Vietnamese EDM show, due to his extensive background in classical music training. Since he was eight, he studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, has been a part of multiple orchestras and is a co-founder of the Rhapsody Philharmonic Orchestra.
Orange
Orange has been working hard as a singer since she was in grade 10, participating in a number of renowned competition shows, most notably X-Factor, where she caught the attention of the trainers. Debuting last year in January, her song 'Nguoi la oi (Hey Stranger)' with rapper Karik and Superbrothers gained over four million views on YouTube.
Quang Minh (Headless, Designer)
Quang Minh founded Headless in 2015. As a media designer himself, influenced by underground culture like manga and anime, his designs are unisex and monochromatic. Today, Headless is a rising star representing Vietnam on a global fashion scale.
Rhymastic
Rhymastic is a self-taught rapper and producer. He is the rapper of SpaceSpeakers and has worked with artists like Justa Tee, Young Uno and Bich Phong and has gained 25 million views on his songs.
Touliver
Vietnamese producer and DJ Touliver graduated from the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema and the Vietnam National Academy of Music, first pursuing a career behind-the-scenes as a producer, composer and arranger for V-Pop and hip hop acts. He's since come into his own as a trap and bass artist, heading up parties in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi as a leader of the genre.
