Hyenah and Argento Dust in The Lab Johannesburg
The Lab welcomes these Durban legends to the decks
Mixmag and BUDX have been jazzed to collab on a fresh Lab destination touching down this summer: The Lab Johannesburg.
On Wednesday, July 31, The Lab Johannesburg welcomes Hyenah and Argento Dust to our latest location, for an evening of deep grooves and high vibes.
Hyenah is a somewhat mysterious presence around the scene in South Africa, as well as the world. Their identity is a secret, as they wear a mask while they perform, keeping their audience clued into the character that is Hyenah. After becoming the Traxsource afro house artist of the year in 2016, Hyenah quickly rose to international acclaim. Every other month, Hyenah runs a party called 'RISE" at Berlin's fabled Watergate, while also releasing tracks and remixes on plentiful labels, such as Freerange, Objektivity, and Drumpoet Community, to name a few.
Argento Dust's love for house music started in 2010, after becoming a member of the esteemed music collective known as The House Junkies. Since then, he's risen to become a staple of the South African scene, having received direct support from Black Coffee. In 2018, Argento Dust was ranked #13 on Traxsource's Top 100 afro house DJs. He's now a leading member of the Super Africans collective, and continues to lead the genre of afro house.
