Spotify launches track IDs, a suite of playlists curated by dance music's leading DJs
Black Coffee, Jayda G, Amelie Lens, SHERELLE and more share the music currently sitting in their record crates
Spotify has launched track IDs, a new suite of playlists co-curated by Spotify and dance music’s leading DJs.
Based around the culture of IDing tracks on the dancefloor – “track ID anyone?!” – the suite sees Dixon, Aluna, Black Coffee, Jayda G, Amelie Lens and SHERELLE, among others, share the music that’s currently sitting in their record crates.
The playlists will help listeners find the music being played by their favourite DJs as well as new music from the DJs themselves.
Dixon said: “It’s no secret the tracks I play are usually unreleased from whichever sounds I’m into at the time. Right now with the usual game on hold, this playlist feels quite personal. Of course there are the floor fillers in there, some from prior to lockdown, some that never have been tested on a dancefloor. But I’m more curious to gauge the listeners’ response to the underdogs.”
The playlists will be updated weekly and will traverse the length and breadth of dance music’s BPM scale.
