Sorry Records with Lil Data and Nick Boyd @ The Lot Radio
Shout out to Lil Data and Nick Boyd for sharing an internet radio station video stream that’s worth watching as well as listening to. The first hour from Lil Data is overlaid with visuals of TidalCycles, the live coding composition programme commonly used by Algorave artists, and it’s intruging to watch how he interacts with the tool while serving up a delirious mesh of propulsive beats and warped vocals (and also gives the opportunity for off-mic viewer interaction wheb typing messages like “I WAS SCARED TO COME HERE BUT NICK CONVINCED ME :D” in light of the flash flooding hititng NYC around the time of recording). Nick Boyd’s closing 40 minutes keeps it racucous with a heady mix of jungle breaks, avant-shoegaze, bassline wobs and more. A closing blend of Spandau Ballet into some murky, palpitating dubstep with a strangely mesmerising vocal - preaching about being amazing at baseball with the cold intensity of a brainwashing self-help preacher - epitomises the enjoyably deranged energy.

I. JORDAN in The Lab LDN
There was plenty of cause for celebration at I. JORDAN’s birthday set in The Lab LDN. Bringing ballons and a boatload of bangers for the occasion, they raiused a serious ruckus with a fast-paced blend of screwface bassweight, euphoric pianos and Madonna with a donk on it.

Facta & K-LONE ‘RA.908’
Wisdom Teeth bosses Facta & K-Lone know a thing or two about loops. Having demonstrated their knowledge of the goldilocks zone between low-end, sometimes eerie Bristol techno and buoyant, naughty tech-house, it comes as no surprise that their club-angled hour for RA’s podcast gleefully dances between the two. Shelling out stripped-back cowbells one minute, to all-out breaks euphoria the next — this mix sees them employ tunes from the likes of Nikki Nair, The Martinez Brothers, LUXE, Vegyn, Tim Reaper and more. All we can say is: Phwoar.
Morgan Hislop ‘Dark Real Dark Podcast #42’
With a colourful approach to bass, breaks and UKG, Morgan Hislop’s contribution to collective Dark Real Dark’s podcast series is typically bubbly and bold, placing the more dancefloor angled stylings of Kornél Kovács, DJ Deeon and Octave One, alongside electro-pop flourishes courtesy of Planningtorock, Jam City and Jessy Lanza. A mix to satisfy all your cravings.
Destrata ‘Untitled 909 Podcast 168’
Vibes from the 0000.1 second mark, Canadian producer Destrata’s mix for Untitled 909 bursts into its hour-long run time with the Bok Bok dub of Jorja Smith’s ‘Little Things’, before throwing us into a state of chaos with Jurango’s ‘Jungalizer’ — refusing to allow us a second of reprieve from there. Pairing sensual and spine-tingling, the podcast also features tracks from Doctor Jeep, Mia Koden, OSSX, Papa Nugs and more to create a tangible feeling of satisfied whiplash upon its ending: Kincaid’s wobbly ‘Sugar’. Just don’t put this on when you’re trying to do your mascara like we did, jheesh.
Actress ‘Mixmag Cover Mix’

Sepehr ‘Mixmag In Session’
New York-based Sepehr takes you on a journey for his Mixmag In Session mix, mixing “dusty and crusty” late ‘90s and early ‘00s techno with “more contemporary, bassy, UK-ish percussive stuff”. The Iranian-American DJ and producer also includes lots of his own material in 80 minutes of twisting and turning sounds which leave you gasping for air. The mix veers in an ambient direction towards its denouement, with Ceremonial Abyss’ ‘The Torch’ and Evigt Mörker’s ‘Blixt av det yttersta’ perfectly shifting proceedings down a notch. Sepehr’s In Session is a clear indication of a DJ and producer hitting their stride.

Chase & Status ‘Boiler Room: London’
A relentless set from the legendary d‘n’b stars Chase & Status. With just one half of the duo, Saul Milton, present, he lays down huge tracks such as ‘No Problem’ and ‘Selecta’. Gun fingers galore, this bass-heavy mix is pure chaos, and when you think things couldn’t get any better, Flowdan jumps on the mic and there we have it, ‘Baddadan’.
