Courtesy launches new event series at Berlin’s OHM
Against Interpretation Club takes off this month and will showcase musicians, DJs and multidisciplinary artists
Courtesy is set to launch a new event series at Berlin’s OHM, Against Interpretation Club.
Fresh off the back of her latest album 'Intimate Yell' late last year Courtesy, AKA Najaaraq Vestbirk, has described the new series as a space where musicians and artists will “explore performance, music and sound."
Named after the artist’s music label Against Interpretation, the series’ first night will take place on January 31 — with a headline set from Courtesy herself.

The line-up also features eight other acts, a mixture of musicians, artists and performers - including multidisciplinary artist Yves B. Golden, experimental producer Ludwig Wandinger and visual artist Samuel Haitz.
Courtesy has long teamed up with artists and incorporated performance into her music; to celebrate the release of ‘Intimate Yell', she shared an accompanying 15-minute video collage with the same title in collaboration with photographer Laura Schaeffer.
The video's footage is made up of photographs, filmed interviews and moving images, recorded as part of a collaborative process depicting a set of nascent contemporary artists including Laura Schaeffer, clara sartor, Klō, Arthur Chruszcz, Saša Drábek aka TRANSmisia and Olga Hohmann.

Over the album's nine tracks, the multi-hyphenate creative delivers on underground dance sounds spanning deconstructed deep house, 2-step, '90s IDM and ambient genres.
