Brussels’ “Focking Sober” to host takeover at C12
The event, premiering September 14, will be Brussels’ first alcohol and drug free club night
On September 14, Brussels’ C12 nightclub will open its doors for its first sober club night. Focking Sober - a collective run by former addicts Ethelle and Victoria - is aimed towards sober people who feel they are unable to go clubbing without being tempted by drugs and alcohol.
Alongside this, it hopes to show its attendees and others in the wider nightlife community that drugs and alcohol aren’t needed to have a good clubbing experience. Instead of using sobriety checks on, the venue will instead sell strictly alcohol free drinks such as themed mocktails and fresh juices.

The 9 hour event will take place from 6pm to 3am. In that time, 20 creatives are going to be displaying an exhibition, holding live performances and screening a short film before DJ sets commence at 10 pm. There will also be a drag show and tattoos will be on offer throughout the night.
The organisers have described the club night as a “ place for sober clubbers, techno people, punks, rappers, drag, freaks, club kids, rockers. It’s open to everyone who want to experience and discover new ways to party.”
Speaking to Belgian news service Sudinfo, the financial director of C12, Théo Hersart said “As soon as Focking Sober suggested this project, it spoke to us directly”
“We’re offering them the space to organise this major event, which didn’t exist until now.” He continued.

C12 is a multidisciplinary event space in Brussels’ Horta Gallery in between the Grand Place and the Central Station. The venue has a capacity of 600, but the duo behind the Focking Sober collective are hoping to one day open the event to a larger crowd.
The 18 plus event has already seen it’s early bird tickets completely sell out, with it’s remaining pre-sale tickets flying out too. Tickets on the door will be available for €10.
