Charli xcx to team up with A24 for new movie scored by A.G Cook

Charli xcx is set to produce and star in a new film from A24.

According to Variety, The Moment will be produced by Charli's new production company Studio365, and will feature a soundtrack created by 'Brat' producer and long-time collaborator A.G. Cook.

While details, such as the plot, are being kept under wraps - Variety confirms that the British electro-pop star will also have a central role in the film.

The Moment is reportedly based on a screenplay by London-based writer Bertie Brandes and Scottish fashion photographer Aidan Zamiri, with the latter having also been enlisted to direct the project.

Past Lives and Zola producer David Hinojosa will also be working on the film, while A24 will be responsible for its cinema distribution globally.

The film will not be Charli's first silver screen appearance; the 'Brat' star is currently filming folk fantasy 100 Nights of Hero by director Julia Jackman, alongside undertaking roles in other upcoming films such as a remake of 1978 horror Faces of Death, Romain Gavras' comedy Sacrifice and Pete Ohs-directed drama Erupcja.

The announcement comes days after the nominations for the 2025 BRIT Awards were unveiled, with Charli receiving five nods — including Artists of the Year, Album of the Year and Track of the Year. Check out the full list of nominations here.
