Drill rapper TKorStretch dies after being stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival

Drill rapper and ex-footballer TKorStretch, real name Takayo Nembhard, has died after being stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival over the weekend.

Friends and family are now paying tribute to the 21-year-old from Bristol, who attended the event with his younger sister and friends on Monday, August 29.

Takayo was “close to greatness”, says his manager Chris Patrick who paid tribute to the rapper following his death. The 21-year-old was said to be “endlessly talented” with some 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

The stabbing was reported to the Metropolitan Police at around 8:PM on Monday. The fatal incident was said to have happened in front of hundreds of people around Ladbroke Grove under the Westway flyover.

Takayo was pronounced dead after he was taken to hospital by police and paramedics. An investigation has now been launched into the murder of the 21-year-old.

“This is the worst possible ending for a talented kid,” said Chris Patrick in a statement this morning following Takayo’s death.

“2 years ago a young 19-year-old man came from Bristol to meet me at my Studio with his dad, his name was Takayo Nembhard AKA TKorStretch,” he recounted.

“That meeting took us on a journey…we recorded some great music together. His talent was endless and I can tell you guys he was close to greatness! So it’s with a heavy heart that I bring the news that Takayo (TKorStretch) passed away last night.”

Takayo also reportedly had a child on the way who will “never get to meet his father”, Patrick writes. “My deepest condolences to TK’s Mother & Father his Brother, 2 Sisters, Girlfriend and child that will never meet his father!”

Elsewhere, London Mayor Sadiq Khan also spoke out on the late rapper’s death urging: “we are doing everything in our power to root [violence] out”.

“I am sickened by this awful attack. Violence has no place on our streets,” he said. “I urge anyone with information to contact the police.”
