Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist link up on surprise album, ‘VOIR DIRE’
The record was released under a fake name four years ago, unbeknownst to fans
Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist have teamed up on a surprise 11-track album landing next month, ‘VOIR DIRE’.
The hidden release was first released by The Alchemist on YouTube under a fake name four years ago unbeknownst to fans, and was only recently discovered after fans led a scavenger hunt to find the long-rumoured record.
The project was first officially teased last month with a snippet of their lead collaborative track, ‘Sentry’ featuring Mike, which landed on streaming platforms in August.

Earl and The Alchemist have since announced the full-length project, due for release on October 6, 2023 on streaming platforms, which lands via Tan Cressida / ALC / Warner Records.
Three new unreleased tracks have been added to the record since its first secret release, ‘Heatcheck’, ‘The Caliphate’, and ‘Mancala’, the latter two featuring Vince Staples. ‘The Caliphate’ was released over the weekend alongside a new music video. Check it out below.
The pair are due to head out on a North American tour in November alongside Mike and Black Noi$e, kicking off on November 6 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle. They’ll hit San Francisco, Atlanta, New York, Detroit, and more before the end of the month.

In a 2022 interview with Earl Sweatshirt for the cover of Mixmag, he explained that he owes The Alchemist a debt of gratitude, and felt at home when working alongside him on his last record, ‘Sick!’.
“Al is a really great person and someone that genuinely cares about me, bro,” he said. “It makes for the best recording because I can go with my whole self over [to his house]. Sometimes you need the space or the freedom to be as fucked up as you are to really get it out and give it the time and to be able to process it.”
