Imprint Early Reflex has announced a new V.A. - ‘Flex003’ - to celebrate its second birthday.

Due for release on June 3, the compilation consists of ten club tools from a variety of new and established artists from around the world.

The compilation embraces a variety of aspects of experimental club music, including dancehall, drum ‘n’ bass, leftfield techno and broken beat sounds, taking the listener on a journey of sounds ranging from 90 to 160+ BPM.

On the release, label founder Alec Pace says: “I am so excited that Early Reflex is about to celebrate its second birthday as a label with the release of a new VA. When I first started the project in early 2020 and I was collecting tracks for ‘Flex001’ - our first release - I didn’t expect that the project would have grown so fast.

“For this occasion we put together an exceptional crew of producers and the quality of the music is incredibly high. It was also my honour to work with established and up-and-coming artists such as Hassan Abou Alam, Diessa, Honeydrip, Lighght, Ikävä Pii, Bladeblanc, AYLN, Honeydrip, NORA DRUM and BLCKEBY.

“Special thanks go to Giuseppe Cavuoto, our illustrator who provides the drawings of each artwork, and Andrea Prato, our sound engineer taking care of the mastering process."

One of Pace’s own productions feature on ‘Flex003’, closing the first side of the album with leftfield techno for the syncopated bass, vocally-driven ‘Ghost Money’. The track follows broken-beat, atmospheric sounds, techno and psychedelic sounds, giving way to the second side.

The second half of the album opens with Honeydrip’s ‘Wake the Phone’, a bouncing-beat and 90-s vibe tune, followed by more hypnotic cuts, robotic sounds and a drum ‘n’ bass track to tie the compilation together.
