Gangsta Boo's posthumous album to feature Skepta and Run The Jewels

The album of the late Three 6 Mafia member is set to be released on what would have been her 44th birthday

Gangsta Boo's posthumous album to feature Skepta and Run The Jewels

A posthumous album from Gangsta Boo will be out later this year including features from Skepta and Run The Jewels.

According to TMZ Hip Hop, the Three 6 Mafia member's estate will be releasing her posthumous album on what would have been the artist’s 44th birthday, August 7.

Other artists said to be featuring on the album alongside, Skepta and Run The Jewels are La Chat, Drumma Boy, Crunchy Black and Nick Hook.

Her former Three 6 Mafia bandmates DJ Paul and Juicy J are said to be “in talks to provide some production heat” alongside Metro Boomin and BeatKing.

Gangster Boo - real name Lola Chantrelle Mitchell - died on January 1 with the cause of death unknown.

The Memphis-based rapper joined Three 6 Mafia aged 15 after DJ Paul spotted her at a school talent show.

Gangsta Boo also went on to produce solo work with her debut album ‘Enquiring Minds’ in 1998 before leaving Three 6 Mafia in 2001.

Gangsta Boo’s mother, Veronica Mitchell, told TMZ: “My daughter Lola was my only baby girl. I was so proud when she would rap as a little girl. She became the Queen of Memphis and God brought her home to be with her daddy Cedric and her brother Derron. I miss her but I know she’s happy with them."

Her mother added: "I’ll always remember telling her go get them dollas, but I had no idea how many people would love my baby girl. I’m grateful all y’all support my daughter. Thank you.”
