Glastonbury local tickets sell out as hopefuls report online glitches
One ticket tryer described the sale as a “farce”
Tickets set aside for residents living near Somerset’s Glastonbury Festival completely sold out on Sunday (November 20) after going on sale at 9:AM.
Split into three separate sales, there were weekend tickets set aside for “inner zone” residents at 9:AM, before those registered in the “outer zone” were able to access them at 10:AM.
A third sale, consisting of Sunday-only tickets for residents of Mendip and central Somerset went on sale at 11:AM.

Local fans of the festival were left frustrated after reporting bugs and glitches with the SeeTickets booking website.
According to Glasto Fest Feed, after tickets were released for the outer zone at 10:AM, some people received a message at 10:01AM which said: “All available tickets have now been allocated.”
Tickets for the inner zone were reported to have sold out at 10:14AM, after some people had seen the sold-out message.
Others trying for Sunday-only tickets also reported bugs with the system, with one person reporting that the link to the tickets was broken, and repeatedly took her to the home page.

Another person who tried for local tickets expressed his frustration, writing on Twitter: “Glastonbury Festival really needs to dump @seetickets who do a dreadful job of selling tickets, confusing and upsetting loads.
“We know demand is huge, but glitchy, failing software is not the answer,” the tweet continued. “Local ticket sales this morning were a farce but SeeTickets get their millions.”

Glastonbury Festival 2023 will take place between June 22 and June 26. Tickets are priced at £335 plus a £5 booking fee, a rise of £70 compared to its 2022 edition, for which tickets originally went on sale in 2019 before the pandemic led to two cancellations of the festival.
Its general sale for next year took place on November 6 and sold out in over an hour, after bugs and crashes on the SeeTickets site were reported at the time.
