Has DatPiff shutdown? Rumours circulate around popular hip hop mixtape platform

Fans are currently unable to access the website and app that has an enormous archive of hip hop releases, though DatPiff claim this is due to "technical issues"

Has DatPiff shutdown? Rumours circulate around popular hip hop mixtape platform

Hip hop mixtape app and website DatPiff is rumoured to have shutdown.

Many fans of the platform have been mourning the loss of DatPiff's enormous archive, amid speculations that the site has shutdown.

Prominently used in 2010s, the site allowed artists such as Meek Mill and Lil Wayne to make their name and release music — with much of its archived material now inaccessible to fans.

On top of this it also provided video content, artist interviews, news, and reviews surrounding the hip hop genre.

Reports from PiunikaWeb say that the app has been taken down from the Google Play Store.

One person has even Tweeted: “Yo what’s going on with the App ? Hasn’t worked in Weeks, doesn’t matter that mixtape or Artist”.

Another write: “RIP Datpiff 2005 - 2023 my main source of mixtapes growing up, it’s a sad day”.

DatPiff has sinced posted a statement which reads: “Despite the rumors, we are happy to report that we will still be supplying you with all the mixtapes you love.

"We're working through technical issues on our site and app, but still actively update our youtube! Thanks for all the love and concerns but we promise, we are still here.”

According to the Reddit post on r/hiphop101 its claimed that: “development and support for the website and app ended sometime back in 2020,” and that datpiff.com “no longer responds.”
