Herrensauna return with third instalment of compilation series

Herrensauna have announced the third instalment of its compilation series, which kicked off its label arm in 2020.

Tying in with the ninth anniversary of the Berlin-based label and queer collective, the V/A bridges together experimental club-focused soundscapes, including both artists the imprint admire and friends of the collective.

The release is set to land on December 13.

Its intention is to celebrate Herrensauna's "longevity and its global impact", with contributors hailing from not only its spiritual home of Berlin, but also Japan, the US, the Netherlands and France.

Think dreamy, ethereal arrangements from Cora (pictured), Sepehr and Roza Terenzi, leftfield club offerings from De Grandi, Animistic Beliefs, 3ddancer, Galaxian and R325 and bass infusions from Fetus, truthspeaker, T5UMUT5UMU and Sexapil.

“Our third compilation serves as a bit of a litmus test for where Herrensauna, both as a collective and a label, stands right now,” explains label manager Mau Ventura. “Not only does it include unapologetic sounds by artists we love from all over the globe—many of them friends who’ve previously contributed to our parties—but it is also the most diverse sound palette we’ve ever put together. Herrensauna was born as a reaction to a scene that often feels (and sounds) stagnant, and nine years later, we’re excited to keep pushing the envelope in various ways—this compilation being one of them.
