Berlin-based electronic music streaming platform HÖR has opened a temporary studio in London.

Running alongside its five-date Saturday residency at South London nightclub Phonox, it will host live streams from a space opened on Dalston’s Kingsland Road Mondays to Fridays between 6PM and 10PM each evening.

Its first broadcasted shows at the space came yesterday (April 3), with sets from Vanessa Maria, Fracture, Neffa-T & Flowdan and Jordss.

Each of the Phonox residency events will be hosted by a different collective, with the first being held this Saturday (April 8), with a Live From Earth Klub takeover featuring DJ Gigola performing back-to-back with MCR-T all night long.

April 15 sees Foundation FM hosting the evening, with Kunteaa, Sicaria and Zaleel, while Ifeoluwa’s Intervention will take over the venue on April 22, with DJ Soyboi, MJK and Violet joining the initiative’s founder, which hosts DJ workshops for womxn, non-binary, people of colour and LGBTQ+ people.

The final two events see Juicy Gang on April 29 with DJ Mell G, Neinflunzer and Ben Pest (live), and Explorers on May 6 with Auco, Ploy, DJ Spit and Nana Le Vrai x Yung Palo. Tickets can be purchased here.

Before each event begins, there will be panel talks, workshops and Q&As with each collective and some of the artists. This weekend will see a talk with DJ Gigola and MCR-T at the London studio, where they will talk give their DJing tips, and talk about how people can put themselves out there as artists.

Other talks will include a discussion on why representation is important in nightlife, as well as how to diversify it with Foundation FM on April 8, moving beyond tokenism on April 22 with INTERVENTION, a production workshop with DJ MELL G on April 29 and a discussion on the centralization of music scenes and its consequences on May 6, with Explorers.

Each talk will be hosted by performance artist and DJ Lewis G. Burton, with tickets limited to just 20. Applications can be made here, with priority given to people from marginalised backgrounds.
