Ibiza Underground closed with immediate effect by local authorities
According to documents issued by the City Council of San Antonio, police shuttered the venue due to it not holding a license to hold club events
White Isle nightclub Ibiza Underground has reportedly been shuttered by police.
The venue, which is located around halfway between Ibiza Town and San Antonio in the village of San Rafael, reported the closure initially via an Instagram story, posted on Tuesday (August 6) that read: "The police just closed down the club without any prior notification, so tonight's event is cancelled."
"We will notify you with further developments," the post continued.

According to a report from Nou Diary published today (August 8), local authorities in San Antonio said that officers had shuttered the venue due to Ibiza Underground holding a nightclub event, despite only having a "catering license."
The City Council of Sant Antonio said that it had ordered the "sealing of the premises and a total suspension of activity" at Ibiza Underground as a result of a failed inspection that had "verified" club events were taking place and its kitchen was "inoperative."
Documents seen by Nou Diary claim that owners were notified of the decision to suspend Ibiza Underground's activity on July 31, and San Antonio police had attended the venue on Tuesday to seal the premises.
The statement also claims that Ibiza Underground's operation as a nightclub was posing “a serious risk both for the users of the premises and for the neighbours in the area and their right to rest," adding that the venue had not met regulations on noise control due to a lack of acoustic treatment on the site.
As a result, the City Council has reportedly issued a sanction of €60,000 against Ibiza Underground for infringing Balearic Islands Law 7/2013 — which requires venues to hold a license if sound equipment exceeds 80dB.

In a further statement posted on Instagram yesterday (August 8), Ibiza Underground said: "We have no news to share with you as of yet. For now we do not know when and if we can reopen.
"We are trying to find a way and hopefully we will succeed," the statement continues, accompanied with the caption: "The venue is closed until further notice. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible."
