Ilian Tape has unveiled prints of label artwork — painted by the label founders’ mother, Bettina Zenker.

The prints cover the artworks of most of the records that Ilian Tape since 2013's ‘Vostok Smokescreen’.

There are 36 prints in total, with each bit of artwork originally being designed using oil paints on canvas.

In a post on Instagram, Dario Zenker and Marco Zenker (AKA Zenker Brothers) wrote: “Since catalog number IT020 our mum Bettina Zenker has been painting the artworks for most singles and some albums too.

“Her beautiful oil paintings on canvas give the label a stronger identity and we are grateful and happy that she is part of the label,” they continued.

“36 of her paintings are now available as 50x50cm prints on high quality handmade paper.”

Celebrating their 15th year in 2022, Ilian Tape have released a number of records this year, including EPs from DJ Plant Texture, KW, Deetron, Atrice and label heads Zenker Brothers.

Last month they hosted a 15 year celebration event in Lyon, and will be running one at London’s Village Underground next month (December 16), with a lineup featuring Zenker Brothers, Stenny, Skee Mask and Re:ni.

Earlier this year, the Munich-hailing brothers removed their entire back catalogue from Spotify to protest the low royalty rates that artists received from the streaming platform.

At the time, Skee Mask (real name Bryan Müller) tweeted: “It’s done, all of my shit is gone from Spotify.

“For me it’s about how much/less the creators behind the music receive in terms of value, respect or space,” he continued. “My music will be available there again as soon as this company starts (somehow) becoming honest & respectful towards music makers.”
