Jack Grealish is making his DJ debut later today.

The Manchester City footballer announced earlier today (May 4) that he’ll perform a set for the first time under the alias DJ Grealo alongside Dutch DJ and producer Oliver Heldens, who has been coaching Grealish for several months.

The pair will also debut a brand new collaborative track, marking Grealish's production debut, and perform in the metaverse as part of Man City’s partnership with Web3 platform OKX. The performance is due to go ahead later today.

“I’ve always loved music since I was young,” Grealish said in a promotional video. “This is why I wanted to start learning to DJ.”

OKX’s Global Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique spoke on the link-up: “For our third metaverse experience with Manchester City, we step into the virtual world to watch Jack try his hand on the decks alongside a legend of the future house genre.”

“This fan experience is a great example of the one-of-a-kind immersive experiences we are building for fans. These opportunities are special in that they bring people intimately close to the players they love and their passions.”

In October, Grealish revealed that he’d taken up DJing under the name DJ Grealo, and had taken up Spanish lessons as an extra pastime.

“I like every type of music. I'm actually trying to learn to DJ at the moment. Yeah, 'DJ Grealo',” he said in an interview with Josh Denzel for BT Sport.

When asked if he’s any good, he explained: “I'm awful but everything takes time. I'm trying to learn Spanish as well. I want to learn some stuff outside of football, have a hobby and stuff.”

The England national player also previously said that had it not been for his football career, he’d have taken up club promotion in Ibiza.

“I couldn’t be a plasterer. I’d be a club promoter. Tenerife or Ibiza. I would be getting everyone into the club,” he revealed during a press event at the team’s St George’s Park training centre in 2021.

DJ Grealo and Oliver Helden's set is due to go ahead today. Find out more about it here.
