Lion Babe share how they learn from each other as singer and producer

Lion Babe sits down with Mixmag's On Rotation podcast to discuss their unique dynamic as a duo, how they both input their diverse inspirations into their music, what they learn from each other as a singer and producer and their upcoming cover EP project that’s due out soon.

This past November, Mixmag linked with AKG to bring seven artists to the open desert of Joshua Tree, California for a retreat at the sprawling Pink Satellite Studios. Immersed in this thought-provoking environment, a team of diverse producers, singers, songwriters, and artists stepped away from the hustle and bustle of their touring schedules to focus their creative energies on making music.

Joining us on our Joshua Tree retreat was Jill Hervey and Lucas Goodman of the New York City duo, Lion Babe. Citing influences such as Lee Scratch Perry, Sergio Mendes and Fela Kuti, Lion Babe thrives on an electronic fusion of deep soul, diverse hip hop and robust funk. Over the years they’ve honed their sound and have discovered that their collaboration has helped them blossom into confident and creative individuals. Now with Mixmag’s On Rotation podcast, they share more of their story.
