A fundraiser event supporting fire relief charities in Los Angeles is set to go ahead later this month at The Bellwether.

LA Gives Back: Fire Relief is due to go ahead on January 29 from 7:PM until 2:AM, rallying Los Angeles’ independent music community to pledge their support.

100% of the funds raised from the benefit event will go toward the victims, animals, and first responders who are in urgent need of relief aid through the devastating LA wildfires.

The fires, which began on January 7, are thought to be some of the most destructive in US history. As of January 22, they’ve killed 27 people and destroyed over 10,000 homes and businesses, according to the BBC.

Nightlife brands, labels, and promoters have come together to back their support and help curate for the fundraiser event, with all money going to charity.

Produced and curated by creative agency IHEARTCOMIX, the event also calls in help from the likes of UK label Ninja Tune, LA promoters Brownies & Lemonade, roving LA party A Club Called Rhonda, US imprint Mad Decent, and more.

While the line-up has yet to be revealed, previous LA Gives Back events have featured the likes of Bonobo, Flying Lotus, Boys Noize, and many more, raising upwards of $250,000 for charities in LA.

“Los Angeles is home to a vibrant independent creative community – we’re proud to open our stage in support of our neighbors who lost everything in this disaster,” says The Bellwether’s Casey Lowdermilk.

Other fire relief efforts have also popped up across Los Angeles’ music scene in recent weeks. LA-based radio station dublab and record store In Sheep’s Clothing announced a fundraiser record sale, due to go ahead on February 2.

Meanwhile, Ibiza legend DJ Harvey has released a live recording of his opening night at Pikes in 2024, with all proceeds going toward fire relief charities in Los Angeles.
