MasterSounds to pause hardware production amid split from Union Audio

MasterSounds has announced its last run of many of its products, splitting up with collaborators Union Audio after eight years.

The premium home-made audio manufacturer is to cease production of their DJ mixers, FX units, ISO4s and LinearPOWER supplies, saying that once this final batch has been sold, they will be gone forever.

The UK-based brand announced the news via its social media, with founder Ryan Shaw saying: “Once these are gone, we won’t be producing or selling any more of the above products, which I truly believe will become classics of the future.”

Reflecting on their legacy, he said, “Our vision was to create equipment that is truly world-class, with our esoteric principles of sound & simplicity at the fore. A vision that turned into an amazing reality, creating products and friendships that will last a lifetime.”

The premium audio equipment brand was first formed in 2008, releasing a series of turntable weights. In 2016 they announced their collaboration with Union Audio from the South West of England, with products to be built and tested by Andy Rigby-Jones, Allen & Heath’s former head of design.

A huge part of MasterSounds’ success is attributed to their excellent customer service and care for their products, something which won’t stop despite the news, with Shaw saying, “We will continue to offer our first-rate aftercare to all products now and in the future, and look forward to an exciting road ahead.”
