A seven-hour fundraising event for British DJ and producer Ashley Beedle is set to take place at Ministry of Sound on November 27.

All proceeds from the DANCE FOR ASHLEY will go towards the influential musician’s ongoing and urgent healthcare.

Many of Beedle's close friends and fellow DJs are gracing the line-up, including Fatboy Slim, Gilles Peterson, Terry Farley, Pete Heller, Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy B2B Charlie Dark, X-Press 2, Marcia Carr, Sophie Lloyd B2B Luke Howard.

More will be announced over the coming weeks.

Having battled with prostate cancer for four years, Beedle endured a traumatic incident in November 2023, when he suffered a brain bleed and a seizure due to the rupture of a brain mass.

He subsequently underwent a 16-hour operation, during which he had a stroke that caused him to lose movement in his right leg and arm, as well as losing the ability to talk.

The artist has been recovering ever since, first at King's College’s Critical Care unit, and more recently in a residential rehab centre.

A GoFundMe was launched by Beedle’s friends and family in September to help him and his wife with the financial burden of healthcare such as access to physio treatment, wheelchair-friendly furniture, a hospital bed for home use, and more.

At the time of writing, £159,000 has been raised out of a £160,000 target.

Announcing the event on Instagram, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy said that, despite his circumstances, Beedle “has been remotely co-producing from his hospital bed (including a great new @black_science_orchestra remix of Primal Scream). However, once he is able to leave full time care he will need ongoing care from home where he also will resume his duty as one of dance music’s most prolific producers”.

Tickets are available here.
