Mr. Mitch to release first new album in three years ‘The Lost Boy’
The artist has shared the first single from his forthcoming LP, slated for release November 22 via Gobstopper Records
Innovative electronic producer Mr. Mitch (AKA Miles Mitchell) is releasing his first new album in three years, ‘The Lost Boy’, slated for release November 22 via the artist's own imprint Gobstopper Records.
Today, the artist has shared the first single from the LP, ‘Wow for Real’. It's dark and ambient, establishing the artist’s return to stripped-back, experimental grime, following a brief period producing more club-focussed music under the alias DJ Cuddles.

“I created DJ Cuddles as a fun and functional alternative to the honesty of Mr. Mitch,” says the artist and label head. “Two events happened this year that finally inspired me to tap back in to Mr. Mitch.”
These two events were a trip to Nigeria and the passing of Mitchell’s father, a man who has been: “a great inspiration to me my whole life”.
In 2017, Mr. Mitch shared a touching video on fatherhood for the release of his track ‘Priority’. The film explored what it means to be a father and featured intimate moments between fathers and their children.

Speaking on the forthcoming album’s creation, the musician said: “Mr. Mitch albums have always been an honest reflection of my personal life. ‘The Lost Boy’ is no different to that, owing largely to a turbulent few years in professional and music life. A loss of a life-enhancing day job coupled with a major slow down in demand for live shows caused me to question my identity; who am I without these roles that I have used to define myself?”
‘The Lost Boy’ LP will be Mr. Mitch’s fourth in total, following his last album ‘Lazy’, which was released in 2021. A second single from the album, 'Smitten', is set to drop October 16.
Mr. Mitch's mark on the history of grime can be seen through his legendary club night and radio show Boxed, which carved a new path for the genre by providing a stage for more instrumental and alternative productions.
He established Gobstopper Records in 2010, as the label manifestation of Boxed, releasing work by producers such as Otik, Nikki Nair and BFTT.
