Nesa Azadikhah to release new EP fundraising for women prisoners in Iran

Iranian DJ, producer, and label head Nesa Azadikhah has announced the release of a new EP raising money for women prisoners in Iran.

The record, titled ‘My World’, is due for release on the sub-label of London’s Kulture Galerie, Digital Artefacts, on Friday, January 31.

50% of all money raised from the EP will go toward female prisoners in Iran, “directly supporting” both those imprisoned and their families.

“Given the complexities of sanctions and the Iranian government’s strict surveillance, direct assistance requires careful planning to ensure both security and effectiveness,” the record’s description reads.

Nesa Azadikhah has long supported the liberation of oppressed women in Iran, previously having released a compilation record alongside AIDA through her label, ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’, protesting a society where “freedom of speech is limited”.

In a 2024 interview with Mixmag, Nesa said on the record’s release: “This was our chance and our voice. We received up to 2,000 positive responses and some impressive fundraising.”

The new EP from Nesa spans UK techno, dark disco, and dub, each track paying homage to key parts of her life, including her dogs and her partner.

“We will provide direct support to families of prisoners,” the description reads. “This approach ensures that the aid reaches those in need and is used appropriately. However, no names can be mentioned for security reasons.”

‘My World’ will be available to buy digitally, and is also set to be released on a limited run of cassette tapes. Purchase the album here, and check out the artwork and tracklist below.
