A brand new open-air venue is heading to the Greenwich peninsula next month, which will be unveiled on the bank holiday weekend of April 29.

Modern Wharf Terrace is said to be the “last piece of the complex puzzle that is Greenwich Peninsula” alongside the O2 Arena which has been developed over the course of 20 years.

The terrace opens up for the first time on April 29 with a free entry party taking place from 5:PM until 10:PM. With a line-up yet to be announced, the venue is set to feature multiple electronic-focused events over the coming months.

From May, Modern Wharf Terrace will host several UK garage and drum ’n’ bass events, as well as events billed by the likes of Marcel Vogel, Nancie, Fabio, Terry Farley, and Kevin McKay.

The East London venue will feature “idyllic views of Canary Wharf's skyline across the Thames”, according to the venue’s website, and a slew of “international DJs, street food, cocktails and craft beer on tap”.

Modern Wharf Terrace will have a capacity of 500 people and feature a brand new Function One soundsystem with a DJ booth sunk into a shipping container amidst the industrial setting.

“We're really excited to be bringing some of the best names in electronic music to this stunning location on the Thames,” said the new venue’s Operator, Alex Donald.

“The terrace is part of Brew By Numbers Brewery and I knew it had huge potential to be transformed into a music venue. Open-air dancing in London is still a rarity and we're making the most of this with uninterrupted panoramic views, Funktion One sound and the best street food.”
