New York-based record label Razor-N-Tape is opening a brand new record store in Brooklyn.

Setting up shop in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint, the new flagship store celebrates a decade of Razor-N-Tape as a fixture of New York City’s electronic scene.

The self-titled record store will open on weekends from Friday to Sunday featuring the “complete catalog” of Razor-N-Tape vinyl stock, apparel and DJ accessories, as well as a curated section of new and used records from “independent and international labels”.

Though the store has yet to solidify an opening date, a launch party took place at New York’s Good Room on Friday, October 7, to celebrate the new store and a decade of releases from Razor-N-Tape.

The label has now launched a fundraiser campaign to help the new store get on its feet. “We’ve put together this GoFundMe campaign to raise money to fund the custom buildout & operations of the new space,” reads the fundraiser.

“As you can imagine, opening a brick-and-mortar in Brooklyn is no easy feat. We’ve built an amazing community over the past 10 years, and hope to have you continue on this new endeavor.”

The GoFundMe campaign offers tiers of donations, offering prizes such as new records, RNT-branded slipmats, sticker packs, and discounts on your next order from the label.

Razor-N-Tape was first launched in 2012 by owners JKriv and Aaron Dae, and has since celebrated more than 100 releases.

“What began as a fun passion project for owners JKriv and Aaron has grown into over 100 releases by artists around the world,” they explained.

“We see this storefront as the logical next step in our evolution; a place that will highlight our full catalog and apparel, showcase other new music we support, and be a place of convergence for local and visiting artists.”
