Shanti Celeste announces her debut album 'Tangerine'

Set for release via her Peach Discs imprint

Shanti Celeste announces her debut album 'Tangerine'

UK-based producer, Shanti Celeste, is releasing her ten-track LP, titled 'Tangerine', on Peach Discs this November. This will be her debut album on Peach Discs, a joint label she began with Gramrcy in 2016.

Inspired by the melodies of Detroit house and the tempos of UK Soundsystem, 'Tangerine' is an extension of Celeste's personal history. While EPs made her feel restricted, she notes that making the LP has been a new experience for her explaining, ”writing an album made me feel free of all this because it seemed like an open-ended project. I could just keep creating until I felt like stopping."

Her manipulated voice and use of a kalimba, a Zimbabwean musical instrument, are key to the base sounds on 'Tangerine.' Previously a record assistant at Idle Hands in Bristol in her early days, Celeste has paved a way for herself as a one-of-a-kind underground DJ.
