Technics unveils limited edition SL-1210GAE turntable

A new limited edition Technics SL-1210GAe turntable is being released to mark the 55th anniversary of the hardware company in June.

Only 1000 units of the all-black model will be on sale, with each featuring a badge inscribed with a unique serial. The turntable will be priced at £3,999.

As well as looking slick, the turntable comes with a number of new features, including improved insulation to minimise the effect of external vibrations and a special moving magnet cartridge co-designed by Tokyo-based company Nagaoka, that is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.

The JT-1210 cartridge is exclusive to the SL-1210GAE and “was specifically tuned by a joint team of engineers from Technics and Nagaoka” to provide high-level "focus and detail".
