The Chemical Brothers confirm a new album is on the way this year

The Chemical Brothers have announced the release of their next album this autumn, marking their 10th studio record to date.

It lands some four years after their last full-length release, ‘No Geography’, released in the spring of 2019, and follows the duo’s recent single ‘No Reason’.

The confirmation came early this morning with a photo of a billboard reading: ‘The Chemical Brothers new album fall 2023’, posted by the pair on Instagram.

“We'll see you there Friday at Coachella!” reads the caption to the photo, which appears to show the billboard on the roadside of a desert, presumably in California.

Although the record has yet to receive a name, the billboard hints that this could be an anniversary comeback celebrating 30 years since The Chemical Brothers first formed.

The forthcoming album will also mark their 10th studio record as a pair. Their most recent release, ‘No Reason’, landed earlier in March as a surprise single following 2021’s ‘The Darkness That You Fear’.

On top of their slot at Coachella over the next two weekends, The Chemical Brothers are also rumoured to return to Glastonbury this year after dropping out from their set at the festival's Arcadia stage in 2022.

Fans spotted a gap in the duo’s touring schedule over summer on the same weekend that Glastonbury Festival is due to go ahead, hinting to their return.

Although the festival’s poster doesn’t yet show the duo’s name, fans suspect their comeback after a “disappointing” cancellation last year.
