Watch the new trailer for Flying Lotus-directed sci-fi horror 'Ash'

The first trailer for Flying Lotus-directed sci-fi horror film, Ash, has been released.
Set to hit cinemas in the US on March 21, Ash follows a space captain - played by Eliza González - who wakes up on a distant planet to discover her crew has been brutally killed. The trailer for the film, which is also set to star Aaron Paul, teases gory visuals and a surreal alien setting.
Flying Lotus, AKA Steven Ellison, has also created a score for the film; while we will have to wait until release day to hear it in full, the DJ and producer told AnOther Magazine that he utilised "lots of vintage synth work" to create the "textured world" within the film.

Ahead of the release, Ellison shared he decided to create the film due to a "desire to innovate in the sci-fi space and I really want to show the world something they’ve never seen before."
This is the second time the musician has sat in the director's chair, following his 2017 body-horror movie Kuso. He also created the short film Royal in 2016, and composed scores for the Netflix anime series Yasuke and the Eddie Alcazar-directed sci-fi thriller Perfect.
Kuso was deemed the "grossest movie ever made" by critics, with its plethora of violent, gory scenes prompting walkouts from disgusted viewers when it screened at 2017's Sundance Film Festival.
