Watergate launches mix series with recording of legendary club’s final set
“The final recording is a hearflelt blend of personal favourites, club anthems, all-time classics” says co-founder Metro

Watergate has launched a mix series of archival set recordings from the Berlin nightciub called Watergate Archive.
The first mix shared is the final set recorded at the venue’s closing party on January 2, 2025, by the club’s co-founder and resident Uli Wombacher, AKA Metro.

The Kreuzberg venue start of 2025 after 27 years, citing financial pressures such as “inflation, the energy crisis, rising costs in general, and, not least, the high rent” for the decision.
“The final recording is a hearflelt blend of personal favourites, club anthems, all-time classics, and a few beautifully imperfect transitions, delivered in a DJ booth overflowing with hugs, tears, and tropical humidity after 48 hours of non-stop music,” says Metro.
