NuraLoop brings Nura's groundbreaking tech to the in-ear market

Nura is aiming to replicate the success of the Nuraphone for the in-ear format

Nura caused quite the stir at the end of the last decade when it released the Nuraphone, a groundbreaking over and in-ear headphone with tech that scans your ears and creates a unique listening experience (or 'sound profile') for you and uses the same tiny microphones in its design as NASA.

The Australian company's flagship headphone still stands up a few years after release, thanks to its robust design and audiophile experience (the novelty of the sound profile hasn't worn off thanks to how fun it is to create and the intimate listening experience that it delivers). But with a mid-range price point and use-ability suited to home listening (sorry DJs), the Nuraphone may not be the all-rounder that some people who are interested in Nura's innovations are looking for in a headphone.

Enter the Nuraloop, a versatile in-ear that combines Nura's signature tech with a lighter price tag. Those wanting Nura Personalised Sound in a model that fits into a pocket will be more than happy, especially as the Nuraloop boasts all-day battery, Bluetooth 5 and Nura's punchy Immersive Bass.

Elsewhere on the tech spec is an 3.5mm aux cable that connects via magnet, active noise cancellation, touch control and a build featuring water-resistant materials and a 8.6mm Graphene-coated driver – features one would expect from a wireless in-ear in 2020 with a few of Nura's neat design flourishes.

Out of the box the Nuraloop weighs in at just 25g without feeling like you might accidentally twist it into irrevocable shapes. The ear hooks are designed to be moulded and once on feel comfy. Setting up Nura's Companion App is easy and creating a sound profile is as entertaining as it ever was.

It's a nice surprise to discover that the Nuraphone's warm, deep, detailed sound quality has been passed down to its little sibling. Music feels very close and there's a bass kick that could draw over-ear die hards toward using an in-ear more regularly. Nothing is tinny or brittle about the Nuraloop and it delivers a sonic experience closer to that of an over-ear, which is impressive.

Nuraloop will no doubt transform activities normally undertaken while wearing an in-ear: these are perfect for increasing the quality of the listening experience while running or cycling and are a great stand-in for over-ears when you need something that will fit into a jacket or discreetly into a bag. It's also probably not too much of a stretch to predict that the Nuraloop will become the in-ear of choice for those who want audiophile sound without much hassle at all.

Nuraloop retails at £199. For more information head over to the Nura website
